EZToken Rewards launched in Australia on June 26, 2018 with 40 participating retailers, making it the biggest blockchain loyalty program in the world at the time
Loyalty & Reward Co were heavily involved in the project including developing the go to market strategy, the marketing strategy, the member lifecycle strategy and the PR campaign. Brand design, marketing collateral development, app and website design, tax and legal review, testing, analytics design and merchant communications were also led by Loyalty & Reward Co. Adam Posner from The Point Of Loyalty joined the team and made a significant contribution.
EZToken is a ERC20 cryptotoken hosted on the Ethereum blockchain platform. The company behind EZToken, EZPos Holding Pte Ltd, raised US$10m via ICO in January.
Consumers can join EZToken Rewards by downloading the iOS or Android apps. When transacting with participating retailers they simply scan a QR code to earn. To redeem, the member tells the retailer how much they wish to spend, then they scan a QR code to complete the transaction. When a member earns, their allocation of EZToken are purchased from an exchange, increasing buy activity and stimulating value increases.
EZToken Rewards ran a number of promotional campaigns for the launch, including:
- The chance to win a Lamborghini
- 10 free EZT to the first 10,000 members to join and transact with a participating retailer
EZPos Holding Pte Ltd have 12,000 retailers in 18 countries using their Point of Sale system. Their next goal is to expand EZToken Rewards to as many of those merchants as possible, potentially making this one of the biggest loyalty programs on the planet.
EZToken can be traded on Cryptopia and Qryptos, as well as the EZToken Exchange. The company’s vision is to have most of the buy and sell activity generated by member earn and redemption behaviour, reducing reliance on the speculative investor engagement which other blockchain companies are dependent on.
